Впервые, он был опубликован в 1860 году. Манера письма автора пронизана остроумием и чувствительностью. Во время чтения, он полностью погружает читателя в викторианскую эпоху, заставляя не терять веру в доброту и милосердие. Его работы не потеряли своей популярности и в наше время.
В своем произведении Диккенс делает акцент на конфликты своего времени, не боится критиковать английский парламент и суд. Автор показывает своему читателю насколько сильно антигуманное общество уродует людей, некоторых даже лишает жизни.
Благодаря тому, что Диккенс уделяет большое внимание характеристики и описанию, мне действительно удалось почувствовать атмосферу того времени. В течении всей книги я сопереживала героям. В его персонажах нет ни грамма фальши: они совершают ошибки, любят и ненавидят, переживают и страдают. Я думаю что Диккенс превосходный психолог. Это произведение настолько сильное, что оно невольно глубоко остается у людей в памяти.
В этой книге, автор затронул огромное количество актуальных тем того времени; проблемы буржуазного общества, двуличие людей, классовое неравенство и детский труд.
Я думаю, что эта книга актуальна по сей день благодаря тому, что практически каждый читатель способен увидеть себя или своих знакомых в персонажах этой истории. В этом произведении герои совершают ошибки, мстят друг другу, также они забывают о том, насколько жизнь прекрасна и что каждый прожитый день нужно ценить. А ведь жизнь- бумеранг, все возвращается, и в итоге затронет не только тебя, но и твоих близких.
На самом деле, Диккенс переписал конец произведение. Вместо того, чтобы оставить Пипа ни с чем, роман заканчивается счастливым концом. Я думаю, что автор решил показать, что не смотря на то, что Пип совершал ошибки и не всегда правильно себя вел, после, он все же раскаивался и пытался исправиться.
