Обращусь немного к сюжету книги. США, начало двадцатого века. Тема богатых людей. И, конечно же, тема любви. Рассказ в книге ведется от первого лица. И это одна из тех книг, где главный герой — невзрачный, почти скучный, но очень наблюдательный человек, которому все другие герои рассказывают всё самое сокровенное, и который всегда находится в нужном месте, в нужное время. Ник — так зовут главного героя — становится свидетелем, как и чем живут богатые люди того времени.
