Flag of Northern Ireland is now officially represented by the flag of Great Britain. In 1924, the British Government granted the Government of Northern Ireland for the Ulster banner, officially used in 1953-1972. The flag consisted of a Red Cross of St. Georgia (flag of England) with a six-pointed (by number of counties), with images of the Crown and the "red hand" (historical symbol of Ulster).
image of a red hand marks the connectedness of Ulster with Northern Ireland.
