Родился в Сталино 7 февраля 1960 года. Жил там до 1977 года, когда поступил в ЭВЗРКУ — Энгельское высшее зенитное ракетное командное училище ПВО СССР — в городе Энгельсе Саратовской области. Окончил училище в 1981 году, служил офицером-ракетчиком в Казахстане, затем на Дальнем Востоке.

В 1991 году уволился в запас в звании капитана, проживает в родном городе Донецке. Перебрал множество профессий самого разного профиля. Был предпринимателем, несколько лет работал проходчиком вертикальных стволов в шахтостроительной отрасли, охранником в Донецком национальном техническом университете. Разведен. Бывшая жена с детьми в течение 8 лет проживает в Италии.
