Понятие о стилях возникло с того времени, когда человек понял, что одинаковый набор языковых средств не всегда уместен в той или иной ситуации. Именно с этого периода человеку стало необходимо знать, в каких случаях и как правильно следует употреблять те или иные средства языка. Человек все и всегда стремился систематизировать, ведь в системе легче, чем в хаосе, найти то, что нужно. Попытки систематизировать «употребление особого языка» и случаи его употребления заложили начало рождения науки-стилистики.
