Среди грозных событий тех дней три, особенно таинственные, остались неизвестными или не привлекали особого внимания.Первое произошло во Франции. 16 мая 1940 года, когда фашистские войска рвались к Парижу, два французских ученых из лаборатории Жолио-Кюри пробирались на юг Франции. Они везли в запаянных контейнерах 185 кг воды. В Бордо ее погрузили на английский пароход «Брампарк».
