Эстетическое воспитание – это одно из направлений педагогики, главная цель которого научить человека понимать и ценить прекрасное. В зависимости от возраста ребенка могут быть использованы различные методы нравственно-художественного развития личности.
Выдающийся русский драматург А.П. Чехов сказал: «В человеке должно быть все прекрасно: и лицо, и одежда, и душа, и мысли». Если взглянуть на это высказывание с точки зрения педагогики, то подобное состояние всеобъемлющей красоты и есть результат успешного эстетического воспитания.
Слово «эстетика» в переводе с древнегреческого означает «чувственное восприятие» и представляет собой учение о внешней форме и внутреннем содержании прекрасного в природе, общественной жизни, внутреннем мире человека. Эстетическое воспитание – это развитие в человеке способности воспринимать, ценить, анализировать и создавать прекрасное в повседневной жизни и искусстве. Здесь следует уточнить, что понятие «прекрасное» в контексте художественного формирования личности не совпадает со значением слов «красота, красивый». Последнее – это скорее описание внешней формы, которое зависит от конкретной исторической эпохи, и может меняться. «Прекрасное» же находится вне зависимости от времени и включает в себя такие понятия, как гармония, гуманизм, совершенство, возвышенность, духовность.
